The owner is probably the happiest man alive...always greeting us with a smile, "Hi...long time no see!" and a wave goodbye. Sometimes I'm a bit hesitant in going because I know that he'll recognise me.
In terms of the a la carte sushi places in Mississauga, I'd say that this one has the best, intimate atmosphere. Nice decor, dark coloured scheme, adequate lighting, and booths are available.
Food-wise, I don't remember having a bad meal. Korean side dishes are always provided, as is green tea ice cream.
This time, the fish was really fresh for both the sushi boat ($20.95) + separate spicy salmon roll ($5.95/6 pieces) that I got.
Service-wise, tea is always refilled. And sometimes the manager even asks how the meal is.
One thing that I must mention is that I'm not sure why they don't have larger boats with more than 20 pieces. I think this would be a popular item for patrons who don't necessarily want to go to an AYCE.

Overall, I had a pretty good first experience at Eddie's.
We were seated right away and given glasses of water. Always good and appreciated.
I've eaten Hakka food before, but I'm not sure what all their terms mean "Manchurian", "Mongolian", "Szechuan", etc. All I can assume is that they're on the spicy side.
Although extensive, the menu wasn't descriptive at all so it was difficult for me to make my choice. I wished there were pictures, brief ingredients listed 'cause we had to ask the waiter of the contents.
After shortlisting, the waiter recommended the Manchurian Chow Mein with shrimp/chicken ($9.25). It was similar to a more savoury version of what you can find at a Chinese diner. I enjoyed the flavour, although the next day, the taste somehow dulled a bit.
There were quite a few Indian clientele and the restaurant was quite packed for a Wednesday evening. This is always a good sign!
If I was in the area, I wouldn't hesitate to visit again. Perhaps trying something completely different.

This is my go-to Vietnamese place when I'm in that area.
What sets it apart is its efficient service: Always courteous and fast.
Not too much to elaborate on, but I've never had a bad meal here!

I've been to this location of Man Doo Hyang a few times. The first time I stepped in, I was just curious, and after I was greeted by a server, I just decided to try it out.
(I was curious because it always seems bustling with many Koreans. Ethnic restaurants with patrons of the same ethnicity's always a good sign for me!)
This restaurant seems to specialise in homemade dumplings, noodles, & bbq. I've never had the BBQ 'cause it seems to be reserved for larger parties.
Similar to the BBQ, you can't order the pork bone soup for less than 2 people. It comes in a large pot and it a bit costly for just 1.
I'm not sure if this is authentic or not, but my 1 complaint is that I wish they had more variety in their side dishes. Usually, I'll get 3: kim chee, some kinda radish that is pickled & seasoned very similar to kim chee, & bean sprouts. I love these dishes, but I wished there was more variation in taste.
Prices are AWESOME. Most dishes are less than $10.

There's not too much on the menu, but what they have is GREAT!
This place specialises in soon (fresh) tofu bowls in bubbling hot broth. There are various options/ingredients + Korean side dishes + purple sticky rice that comes with order. Each bowl is ~$7, I can't remember the exact amount, but it's definitely a deal for the amount of food that you get!
Hot, homey meal great especially on a cold night!
Aside from the tofu bowls, there's also bim bim bap and a bulgolgi dish.

After reading various reviews on different websites, I decided to try out Gandhi while I was in the area.
I was prepared for the lack of atmosphere, the HUGE portions, a wait time, and relatively high prices. SO...I decided to share a mutter paneer roti with a vegetarian friend!
Primarily, Gandhi is a take-out place, so I wasn't surprised to see that there were only 5 small tables with some strangers sharing a table due to the lack of space. Luckily, I had visited during an off-hour. While waiting 'n eating, I witness countless people who just came to pick up their orders.
(Calling ahead of time, especially during meal time, was suggested as there is prep time involved in the rotis.)
The cost, I thought, was a bit on the high side. $3.95 for a mango lassi? Usually, I expect $2.50. And if I hadn't split a roti, I would've found it even more expensive.
HOWEVER, I was quite impressed with the flavour of the piping hot stuffing of the roti. My vegetarian friend, who is Indian, confirmed it to be "authentic". In addition, the sauce had a nice kick to it which I liked!
Unless you want leftovers, I would recommend that you share a roti. I did spot some guys who had an empty aluminum tray all to themselves, so it's possible to eat it all.
If I'm ever in the area, I'd definitely visit again...and bring my appetite!

As far as burritos go, I visit Burrito Boyz 'cause 1) it's the closest to my house and 2) the turn-over rate is quite high, ensuring relatively fresh ingredients! Although I much prefer Mucho Burrito, but it's mucho further.
All the times that I have gone, in the evenings, it's been busy. Line-up spilling outside the door. Especially when the weather is nice.
Last night, I ordered a large chicken burrito with all the fixings. I was pleased to see that they now have whole wheat tortillas - just ask for them!
What was substandard was that my chicken was minced. I was expecting chicken pieces, white meat. I think that they also forgot to season it 'cause it was bland, bland, bland. It was all the other ingredients that covered up for the lack of taste in the meat!
After fully assembled, Burrito Boyz also grills your burrito on 2 sides, on their flat grill. I don't really like that part, unless it just had grill lines. I suppose I can ask them not to do this.
Since it is busy, the wait can be a while. Do not expect McDonald's timing at all! My order was taken right away, but I did hafta wait at least 10 mins.

After switching owners for the 3rd time, the restaurant is now focusing on Japanese & Korean cuisine.
I was a bit weary to visit again due to the changes, but I thought that I'd give it a shot.
The menu is new. Very similar offerings to Sushi Tei with similar prices as well. However, I would say that the main difference is that After Rain no longer offers Korean side dishes - which I miss! Unlike Sushi Tei, there's no complimentary green tea ice cream after the meal, only sliced orange.
The sushi was pretty fresh with a good variety of cuts including Butter Fish, Tuna, Salmon, White Fish, Shrimp, & others that I can't name. I was quite happy to see the Butter Fish and Tuna though 'cause I seldom see those in smaller sushi dishes! For 6 pieces of California Roll + 9 various sushi was $13.95.
The Hot Pot Rice ($8.99) is also known as Bim Bim Bap. The rice was burned on the bottom, so my bf left that. Not sure if this is more "authentic" or not, but it tasted good to me.
Hopefully these owners will stay in order to create a customer base!

I added this restaurant months ago, but I didn't know that it was approved 'til now. I just visited tonight, so I thought that I'd share my fresh insights!
There wasn't anyone there when I arrived on a Sunday evening. However, the restaurant did smell as though there was some cooking underway, so I wasn't that hesitant in staying.
My mom wanted the chicken biryani and I asked the waiter to suggest something else. He choose Chicken Boti which is pieces of chicken breast, marinated in yogurt, spices, and bbq'd on a skewer.
(I wished that he had suggested something that wasn't chicken since I already had it in my biryani. ALSO, I thought it out 'cause after everything arrived, I realised that I wasn't gonna have any sauce for my naans! I like to have saucy dishes to accompany the bread.)
The biryani was good, very fresh tasting. Also a fair portion for $7.99. The boti dish was alright, a bit sour probably due to the yogurt marinate, $9.99. However, it was freshly grilled too, so I can't really complain.
The naan was really yummy, non-greasy. 1 is fair enough size for 2 people to split at $1.25 each, it's also a bargain!
What stood out from other Indian (Pakistani) restaurants is that the servers were really proper. They were dressed in white dress shirts + black slacks. They were also well-mannered, offering us some complimentary vegetable fritters + dates. (To celebrate Ramadan?) One waiter even explained that the fast was breaking.
Attention was also paid to the decor and cleanliness which is rare in these establishments, but much appreciated!
I would definitely recommend this place, especially if you are feeling like grilled meats as that seems like their specialty!

How difficult can it be to make a good breakfast?
(This review might not be super detailed because I added this restaurant many months ago and just saw that it was posted now.)
The prices are reasonable, but the actual food is bland - mediocre, at best. The home fries were pretty bad, not hot, or crispy. The eggs were...well, eggs, as was the toast.
What stood out was that the coffee was TERRIBLE. Any place that claims to be a breakfast place should at least have decent, if not great coffee! This is a minimum requirement.
The waitress didn't help the mediocre food as she looked as though she hadn't slept for days! She was pretty out-of-it.
My reviews particularly harsh because I just expected more!
- Order: 2 eggs done any way you want, home fries, toast, breakfast sausages, & coffee.
