  • It took them nearly 2 hours to get our food to us. When we kindly voiced our concern, the waitress (the 40-something year old woman) said: "have you seen our kitchen? it's small compared to the amount of seating!" WELL WHY WOULD YOU HAVE THIS MUCH SEATING WHEN YOUR KITCHEN IS TINY? THINK ABOUT THAT BEFORE YOU OPEN A RESTAURANT. I didn't come here to wait 2 hours for dinner; especially when the restaurant was at 30% capacity AT MOST. There were only 3-4 other tables.

No apologies from her for the delay, just "that's just how it is." Are you kidding me? The staff has no sense of what customer service is. Avoid this dump unless you want to wait 2 hours for bland tasting food.

  • Best pizza in the university area! Very pricy, but worth it ($4 for a slice)!

The pizza is very BIG!!! I love almost dislocating my jaw eating it!

I also love Twice the Deal pizza, which is near the McDonald's. It's so dirty but good.

  • I love this place! Their sushi is actually DELICIOUS!!! I'm always full after I go here...in fact, I vomited once from being too full. I love that they have stamp cards!!! So fun!!

Their signature 'hockey sushi' is seriously SLAMMIN!!! However, I discovered a fish bone in the sushi once...and upon closer inspection, I found out that the outer layer of the hockey sushi is actually fish skin! This turned me off! I wish I hadn't made that discovery because this roll is fantastic.

The location is fairly remote... my GPS was going completely NUTS on the way here. Up hill, down hill, through construction zones- getting here was a journey in itself! But worth it! soooo good! SOOOOO good!!!

  • Usually not a fan of thick rolls, but I really enjoy Niko Niko's rolls. I love their plates as well! The shapes are so fun. I especially like the really long one! It looks silly!

It's about $10 for a roll but their rolls are BIG and FILLING!! So, it's definitely worth it! My favourite is the rainbow roll! So colourful, so festive, and SO scrumptious! Their rolls also come with salad and soup! Good deal, right!?

Overall, I highly recommend this place if you aren't hungry enough for all you can eat!

WARNING: they have very sporadic hours, so make sure you call in beforehand. I went on a Friday night once and it was closed! So rude!

  • What happened to the old-man-boss? I never see him anymore! He was so rude but hilarious

The dim sum is good! definitely not as good as Cameron, but it is not as pricy, which is an important factor if you don't plan on spending $100 on lunch.

Anyway, I have noticed their food is slowly slipping from yum to sorta yum but mostly bleh. The chicken feet used to be so juicy and flavorful, but now it is bland and so bad that when I eat it I actually realize I'm sucking on a chicken's foot. Before, it was like bliss!!! Their ha-cheung is also very bad now. The shrimp is not tender like before and the white-stuff is too thick now.

I still enjoy the har-gow and siu-mai, but I can't say I love the other dim sum items.

Their service, unsurprisingly, is bad. The head waitress who always works there comes off as cold, robotic, and rude.

I do love the new decor though...the crystals...in Crystal Palace...so cute, right?!!

  • food- undoubtedly scrumptious (their dim sum only). Their regular stuff is gross, and much like the pseudo-Chinese "food" you find at mall food courts.

I love the chicken feet and the 'ha cheung'...probably the best I have ever tasted. The ha cheung sauce is particularly scrumptious!

Service is atrocious...these people have little to no social skills, and often come off as rude/snobby. They think their food is the best thing on earth, which it is, but they don't have to act like it. You come in, no Hi, just "how many people?" They give you a number, ask you to wait 45 mins, and then tell you to shove aside in the meantime.

in terms of atmosphere, this place is hectic. Very unlikely that you'll find a parking space, and very likely that you'll get groped by someone on the way in.

And this is without doubt the most expensive dim sum you'll ever eat. It was approx. $6 a dish the last time I went, compared to $2-3 a dish in Toronto and $4 a dish at Crystal Palace in Waterloo.

    Don't go here

  • It's not all you can eat, but I gave it a try anyway. The service is very pleasant and price is somewhere between pricy and not pricy, but their sushi was just not good. I got the rainbow roll- it was way too thick for me to handle. If you like big, thick rolls then give this one a shot. Otherwise, go to Ye's. DUH!

  • Atmosphere- pleasant

    services- mixed

food- poor. too much rice in their sushi and maki. I do love their Galbi though- can't lie I was slightly impressed. But after all, this IS a sushi restaurant and their sushi is subpar at best.

And try finding a parking space during lunch/dinner hours...I almost had to run someone over to beat a car to the spot.

  • I don't know why I'm reviewing this since it burned down... but this may still be relevant if they plan to erect Mr. Sushi again. There is simply no service, so I gave it a 1. This place is also very grungy and dirty- I've been to street markets in Asia cleaner than this dump, so it gets a 1 for atmosphere. As for the food, I wish I could give it a 0... this place is just plain NASTY. Good riddance.

  • This place is always packed and always dirty, but it's SO good, most of the time. The service is very indifferent/poor; most of the waiting staff do not even speak English. But I don't go here for the service or for the decor... the sushi is wonderful!!! I love that they don't pack the sushi with rice like many restaurants in the area do...however, one time there was a stench emanating from the sashimi... it was unusual but I have since forgiven them for that. So I guess the only thing consistent about this place is that they will mess up your order.
