  • I do not usually hit roadhouse style franchises, and not even sure how I ended up here, but was a little surprised. I did not know they had renovated, and while it was a little too bright for my liking and the music a little loud, I thought that it looked much better than what I had expected. Booths were comfortable.

Service was so so- friendly enough, but she did not know a lot about the menu. As apps, the chicken tenders were really good, potato skins, not so much, but I am not sure why people still have those as menu items- seems so 80's doesn't it?

Entrees were excellent and plentiful- salmon was tender and the thai stir fry, while not having much chicken, was loaded with veggies.

Skipped desserts, but they were presented well and looked good.

  • I have visited this pizza place 3 times now, and keep on expecting better. The first time was in the first week and i am not sure they had perfected the process as yet. So, another chance, and the pizza was a lot better, but it was still just...blah? The third time I ordered from the menu as opposed to building my own, and again, while the best that i had had there, I would still prefer the pizza from Mike Smith's other Italianate offering- The Runt/Fellini's. I really hope it does well- and as I said, it does look to be improving with each visit!

  • Order: built my own, and the 4 cheese.

  • Some good, some bad. Busy busy night for them and we did not have reservations, but they did try to seat us- last table right by the washrooms...bad seat made worse by the crowded nature of the place- but, with a quick word with the hostess, we were moved to the bar- which we would have probably preferred anyway. Ordered a pint of Guinness which was served without settling, and a glass of a recommended red. The bartender was very busy and it took a while for us to order our apps and she was a little loud/informal for my tastes, but people seemed to like her!! Food was quickly out to us- ahi tuna, baked brie, and chicken satays. satays were cooked well and the hot sauce was brilliant. tuna was a little bland. Overall, there is just something about the place that is a little off- maybe it is the noise, or the feeling of being too close to others? I do enjoy the food usually and this time was no different, but if you are out for a quiet evening, might want a different spot...

  • I had not been to Crave in a year as I had a very mediocre experience last summer. We were invited to the restaurant as they had heard there was a new chef and the quality had improved immensely. We were not to be disappointed. The restaurant was full on this Friday night and the staff was excellent- from the hostess to our server Reid, to the kitchen staff that got our meals out- and we did not feel crowded or rushed. I loved the ahi tuna appetizer, although would have liked real wasabi as opposed to the wasabi mayo (?) that it was served with. My companion had the soup of the day and the others had the caesar (little bit too much dressing, but fresh) and the crab cakes. For dinner, pork medallions (luscious), the tenderloin was one of the best I have had, the southwest chicken- which Reid told us would be coming off the menu, and the bison, which was also cooked beautifully. There was something for every taste and the food was outstanding. I did think the sides were a little small- the seasonal vegetables- but as the entree portions were substantial, I thought that overall, there was value on the plate! We did not do desserts, but did have an excellent shiraz called Six Rows...

no question, we certainly had a great night at Crave and apparently, the rumours about the new chef are true! highly recommended.
