This is a fancy restaurant with a wine list and in good weather you can eat outside. They have live music on weekends and recommend reservations. Inside they have charger plates on the table with the restaurant name on them, and there is a high shelf with rows of old cameras on it.
The building it is in used to be Dukes which was a notorious bar. Dukes closed some years ago, but the top of the building still has the FOUNTAIN and BAR signs separated by the Coke logos, with Dukes' name still visible (although faded) above it.
After the first time we went, we've been back several times
- Order: I had chicken covered with crab imperial. The brocolli that came with it was nice and fresh and green, but I thought the chicken was 'off'. Bob had the NY Strip (10 oz) with fries for $20.95. Bob finished his dinner, but I couldn't finish the chicken so I just ate the crab and cheese. I had almost enough room for the dessert. I was tempted by the Crisp du Jour (strawberry, pineapple, kiwi, pecans and Appricot brandy ($6.50) or the Chocolate & Raspberry Fondant. Profiteroles, Cafe Apple Tart or Creme Brulee (all $5.95). But I eventually had the $4.95 Caramel Pecan Passion Ice Cream which was described as Caramel ice cream layered w/Caramel Fudge Pieces, caramel mousse, rich caramel sauce and topped with crunchy glazed pecans. The mousse was quite dense and it was almost too rich to finish. Our bill was $48.14 and after tip was $57.14.
