Legal Sea Foods - Long Wharf

Our group decided to visit this restaurant upon recommendation from some friends who lived in Boston. This was supposed to be one of the best seafood restaurants in Boston. I'm happy to report that the restaurant does deserve that reputation.

The atmosphere is set by dim lights and dark colors, in a semi-formal but comfortable fashion, somewhat like a lounge or club. The servers were very nice and prompt.

The calamari appetizer was the best calamari I've ever had. The sauce just melted in my mouth, and the texture was very unique. The New England clam chowder was also the best I've ever tasted, with just the right balance of spices and clam taste. The only complaint I would make is that the swordfish was a little tough to chew and flavorless. I've never had swordfish before, so I'm not sure whether that is typical. The rest of the entrees were very well done. The prices were worth it and not too excessive.

By the way, this was the Legal Sea Foods directly across from the New England Aquarium.
