I've lived in Palm Harbor for 5 years, and ever since moving here, all anyone has ever talked about is the Thirsty Marlin. We went there for the first time shortly after moving here, and it quickly became our favorite. But this past year, we have been there 3 different times, and the place has just gone downhill, with each visit worse than the last. Our table began with appetizers of Pan Seared Ahi Tuna and Calamari. While the calamari was OK, the Ahi was dreadful. Instead of the sashimi style we expected, we received a plate of tuna that looked more like it came out of a can than was a fresh pan sear. It was cooked all the way through and was nearly like rubber. We moved to the entre's and were very disappointed when our food arrived. I should mention that it took nearly an hour for our food, and we were one of only four parites in the restaurant at the time. When it did finally get there, all items were luke warm at best, with a few being downright cold. It was obvious that they had been sitting for some time before someone bothered to bring them out. And I need not bother describing the taste, as you can just imagine what food that sat out on a counter for a period would taste like. In short, while we used to be regulars, eating there at least once per month, I doubt that we will ever go back.
- Order: Pan seared Ahi Tuna, Cuervo 1800 Margarita, Baby Back Ribs, Calamari, Marlin Challenge Burger, Fried Green Tomatos, and others

Our family likes to dine here on Sunday nights, for a casual meal that includes something for every one. My kids appreciate the crayons and paper, and they enjoy the steel drum music when live musicians are on hand. The cajun shrimp pasta is one of the best menu items. The sushi is quite nice, except they do use surimi instead of real crab. The manager is attentive, though the wait staff can be spotty. Outdoor dining is pleasant if the weather is cooperative.
- Order: Sushi Platter, Cajun Shrimp Pasta

There were so many flies that it made it so difficult to eat as we had to keep swatting the flies away. It took awhile to get the attention of the waitress to take the shells from the crab legs that were covered in flies. We were told this happens when you have melted butter for seafood. I have never had this happen to me before and I have had this same meal elsewhere and no flies. Go eat some place else!
- Order: crab legs, scallops
