Tuscany Grill

I would like to inform you of the service my friends and I received tonight
date: Friday, October 9th, 2009 approximately 8:30pm.

We waited over 50 minutes to grab
our waiter’s attention to ask about our food at which time we informed him we
needed to leave to an emergency we said we gladly pay for our drinks if we
could please get the bill at which time he said “okay” took two steps away then
returned to the table and said, “but don’t you want your food, your food is
ready” we said, “no, we have an emergency, we’d like to pay for our drinks,
thank you”, “but your food is almost ready, he’s setting it up now” we said
“excuse me, we’ve been waiting for quite some time for a food, we have an
emergency, we need to go, may we please pay for your service” and which point he
said “Is it my problem you have an emergency? we take time to prepare your food,
we are not like Macaroni Grill” I said, “I don’t understand what you’re telling
me, what does that have to do with anything”, “you will pay for your food”. We
found his tone very condescending and rude.
We protested and he said, “Fine, give me your card”. We said to him, “no, we’d
like for you to give us the bill first”.
He then forcibly demanded for a card. Out of regard for a scene being created I
said, “we will pay for the food and take it to go, I was not unhappy with the
service until now, I find your tone very rude and please know that you will be
hearing from us” he then puffed out his chest, opened his arms and said, “fine
let them hear from you”. I handed him my
card and he snatched it from my hands.

10-15 minutes later we were given
our food and bill by a different server, which made us feel that our food was
not ready as assured originally and found it unprofessional for our original
server not return and at the very least apologize for the situation regardless.
We took our food, and paid leaving a written comment on the “we would like to
hear your comments” slip of paper in which I said “very disappointed, rude
service, please inform your manager you will be hearing for us”.

A few comments about the facility
in which you should know about: The hostess Liz was polite and appropriate but
we were very confused as to whom was serving us for we were approached by
different servers and the third person in which our complaint is about did not
give us his name (our receipt says server #3). We found it very tacky that our
“display
plates” had the price tag from “TJ Maxx Home Goods” on the bottom. Though we
are all of age, the two guests that ordered wine were not asked for
identification and we felt he tried to push a wine order on the other two
guests who were not interested. There was a work lighting fixture that had been
stuck into a plant behind our booth with paper covering the bulbs which
looked very precarious. Our wine was brought out and not poured at the table. Our
server’s appearance was quite unprofessional due to his unkempt uniform. The
food that we received appeared to be under cooked and unfit to eat which we
were vey disappointed by because we were told our food was ready. The bread we
received was small and not refilled. We would have liked to have been told our
food was on its way after at the very least 20 minutes, not almost an hour
later when we had to grab his attention. One of the servers spilled water on
the table and didn’t wipe it. The guests at the table next to us, a party of 7
(we are a party of 4) that arrived about 5 minutes after us were served
appetizers, soup/salads and entrée before we were

I would like you to know that in
conclusion, my friends and I are very dissatisfied with the service.

This is one of my very favorite restaurants with food and staff rated as excellent! The pasta, risotto are terrific! Lamb Chops and New York steak are probably my favorite meat entrees but their fish specials are always wonderful. Several dishes would qualify for Weight Watchers such as the grilled Ahi and Salmon. Great atmosphere. Warm and welcoming! I go there several times a week for lunch and dinner and highly recommend all dishes! The homemade soup always is just right! Good value pricing as well!! Little touches like Turkish tea make it so special. Matthew , the owner is usually ready to make you feel at home and is most accommodating. Be sure to try it soon. Great Irvine/Newport Beach location at MacArthur & Main with parking validated (between El Torito Grill and McCormick and Schmecks on the 2010 & 1920 Main St. plaza). They offer a good wine selection as well.

I was told by a friend to dine there,she wroks near building and eats there often for lunch,we really did like this place, very clean great ambiance, we took a little walk outside it is park like,we highly reccomend it.

Decor and convenient location on Main Street,Irvine behind El Torrito,outside park is welcomming,easy free parking with validation,
food was fresh and tastey,service was very good.we will visit often.
