  • Fabulous little spot in Burbank. The decor was interesting, sort of a Mexican seafood theme. Central light fixture had all but one light bulb working (maybe that was to dim the room). Fake brick walls inside.

Food was wonderful and plentiful. Watch out for those roasted hot peppers - they're sweet but a lot hotter than you expect. The platter came out on a tin device heated with something akin to a blob of sterno. There was enough steak to keep 3 or more people satisfied. Fairly nice quality steak, included two filets. Great flavour. I ate way too much here.

  • Order: Fogata de Caporales (meat platter for two), beer

The naugahyde booths, gothic wrought iron, and imposing chandelier with only one working lamp -- I dig it. I can understand if it turns others off, but it works for me.
Service was friendly but brief, which is fine by me. She kept the fresh nachos, salsa and cerveza coming.
Mexican seafood seems to be their specialty, but we went for the meat platter for 2 (I forget the actual name of the dish). When the platter arrived we were astonished to find it contained 5 (count em!) steaks. WHAT two people can eat that much beef?! Anyway, it was delicious.
Presentation of the entree was in keeping with the rest of the place, it's served in a large tin pan sitting on top of a small tin 'oven' containing flaming sterno. Made everything sizzle nicely.
I bit half of one of the chilis and at first thought "kinda sweet and very good". Seconds later, my eyes tearing up, thought, "I am going to die!" Those baby's are hot!!
Steak was very good, especially the carne asada, but I ate way too much.
    Recommended!
