It sounds to me like this restaurant was going through a crappy phase when it wasn't associated with Uli or Tyson. Talk about Mr. Hyde and Dr. Jekyll. The good doctor is in the house now and did away with Mr. Hyde for good! I have dined at Uli's with Tyson as the owner and have always been very happy with the food, service and atmosphere. I love the music they play. It's never too loud. The fish and chips are great! The best I've had. The specials are great in price and quality. The servers are super nice and attentive. Darn good beer and wine! Love it! My husband and I always make a place to bring family and friends. Keep up the good work! I'm sure you will.

The previous reviews of Uli's Restaurant in no way accurately portray the establishment now owned by dynamic young restaurateur Tyson Blume as of the first of October, 2008. This charming establishment offering superb fresh cuisine has earned a second chance.
Though often referred to as a "German" restaurant, Uli's possesses an eclectic menu that offers something for every palate. Their seafood dishes are to die for, especially the seafood chowder in a creamy dill broth and the generous servings of linguini swimming in fresh seafood. My personal favorite is the savory saffron-infused paella considered by many to be the best this side of Spain.
Recently, Uli's Restaurant made the transition of ownership from German-born Uli Blume to his vibrant young son, Tyson. With executive experience managing some of the best restaurants in Vancouver, Tyson brings his own energy and unique vision while maintaining the charm and traditional dishes of his father.
Though Uli's is good value and some of the courses could easily serve two people, Tyson offers weekly specials that make “Uli’s” an even better value. Wednesday is "Schnitzel Night" with three different mouth-watering versions of the German specialty offered at half price. Thursday is "Paella Night" when a couple can dine on a monster-sized platter for two, full of steaming hot pieces of chorizo, shrimp, mussels for just $20 ($13/single).
Tyson also brings his considerable experience in wine tasting and continues to expand the restaurant's impressive wine list that includes the best from British Columbia, California, Australia, and Old World Europe.
With indoor and outdoor dining poised over Semiahmoo Bay (even in winter under huge heaters), Uli's Restaurant is always a memorable experience, and the warm engaging smiles of Tyson and the exceptional wait staff will leave you smiling too.

What a rip off, last time we were there was lots of prawns, scallops and seafood in these dishes, now Uli's not in the kitchen it's hard to any seafood in the paella or the Seafood Linguini.
The waitress got our order wrong, and didn't know half of the menu. Brought us wine in dirty glasses, the food was cold plates and the music was soo loud we had to scream at each other just to talk.
The worst Spinach soup I have had in my life.
