Wesley Street Cafe

I really struggle with this restaurent. It is highly spoken of but I find it to be a real disappointment. While the food is good without being fabulous, the restaurent is completely lacking in atmosphere. The decor looks as the staff painted the walls between serving meals; totally amateurish. The restaurent is untidy and cluttered. A bakers rack has been placed across the front of the bar and loaded with everything and anything. The tables and chairs might have been purchased second hand from the Salvation Army Store and the owners tried to hide this fact by covering them in plastic sheeting.

To be rated as a good restaurent, food quality alone isn't enough. But sadly that's all this restaurent offers. It cries out for a head to toe, professional renovation.
Sorry; but as is, the Wesley Street Cafe just doesn't cut it.

A nice little surprise tucked into the middle of Nanaimo. The food was, well, absolutely wonderful. It's no wonder this place enjoys awards from Zagat, Frommers and just about every important magazine on the west coast. Keep up gthe good work - you guys get it!

This is a really great place to dine and one of my favs in Nanaimo! The food is consistently WONDERFUL and always artistically presented.

As this is a fine dining establishment, the prices are higher than the average place in Nanaimo, but is great value when viewed against comparable restaurants on the mainland.

I have never been disappointed here. On the contrary, I usually have several "Ratatoulle" moments (you know, the movie Ratatoulle when the mouse tastes something delicious enough to cause a virtual food fireworks display in his head!) as I make my way through a meal.

I say - get to The Wesley Street pronto!

I liked it. Good food, service fair, nice able setting, good desert menu, a little pricey.
