  • My boyfriend and I went to the Mermaid's Mug on our 2nd anniversary. We met on a beach, and this was a similar theme. Underwater, fun, a bit campy and trampy, but nothing offensive- we loved it! Our barista looked faliliar-we couldn't figure it out til we realized she was grinning at us as a mermaid from one of the walls in a portrait. The music was wonderful, the daiquiri the best I've EVER had (I've had a few in my time) and the service was fast, efficient, and not pretentious. A refreshing break from the (*)bucks of the world!

  • Order: Strawberry Daiquiri, breakfast wrap, Very sappy irishman(Alcoholic frappuccino) chicken chili nachos

  • This is the quirkiest restaurant I've ever visited and I'm so glad I did. You might think it's a cute place to take the kids for lunch but don't - there's a raunchy underside that's as sexy as it silly.

The mermaid pictures are all painted right on the wall - and they're hilarious! I love how much there is too look at - obviously the owner has a great sense of humor.

We sat in the secret garden outside, which is really just a bunch of plastic patio chair on grass. Kitschy yet, and fun! But the food is out of the world good - and most of it is organic.

Had a great time and loved the food - that's all I need to make my meal perfect.

  • Order: Mermaid nachos, little big salad and vegan chunky chili

  • It lived up to the description 'Cheesy, Crunchy goodness' Whole wheat spaghetti pan fried on the bottom (nice and crunchy) and the omlette concoction over top (cheesy yum!)They use local and mainly organic ingredients (this is what brought me here to begin with). And the Red Eye coffee in the 'DD Size Cup' well ... Hillarious and tasty too (really good coffee and fair trade organic)

  • Order: Spaghetti Omlette, Red Eye 'DD Cup'
