  • Excellent food. Hard to believe their prices are as low as they are with the quality of food they produce. I will definitely go back and will/have recommend to friends.

  • Order: Spinach Pie (best I've had), rosewater pudding, baclava

  • Spinach pie is phenomenal! The pastry is deliciously flaky, the cheese and spinach are wonderfully blended, yet not salty. This is the absolute best spanakopita I have tasted from any restaurant in Nanaimo. I would return to Aladdin's Cafe just to have more spinach pie, but the rest of their menu is also wonderful. Our table was extremely impressed with the quality of food and service from this excellent restaurant.

  • Order: Spanakopita, Lasagna, Lamb, Caesar Salad, Cheese Cake, Homemade Lemonade.

  • I had previously enjoyed Aladdin's Cafe for take-out, but a friend and I decided to eat in for a change. We both ordered a wrap and waited. And waited. And then waited some more, even as patrons all around us who had arrived after we ordered were already enjoying their entrees! In total it took more than half an hour for our simple souvlaki wraps to arrive. It was a moderately busy evening, well after 7pm, and not full capacity.

The waitress neither apologized nor mentioned the long wait. She didn't come to check on us at all. The couple sitting at the next table over (well into their full main courses, despite ordering about fifteen minutes after we did) even made the suggestion that we ask where our food was. At that point, however, we were just too hungry and too disappointed to bother. Once the wraps did come, they were soggy and the tomatoes were running. I've had better from the Greek fastfood place at the mall.

I was just embarassed for picking the restaurant!

  • Order: lamb souvlaki wrap

  • You'll miss this place if you're not looking for it. And if you go in, don't expect anything fancy. It's an authentic Leganese, Greek and Italian resto all rolled into one.

Food is spectacular though. Their motto is "Everything we make is made with love." I think there's a world of tradition thrown in as well.

Trust me on this one. Your belly will thank you.

  • Order: Tabouleh, spinach pie, chicken souvlaki, donairs and lasgna
